Montgomery County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. For those matters, contact the government office that maintains the record or custody system.

Official Montgomery County Routes

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is at 345 W. Second Street, Dayton, Ohio 45422. Its general and nonemergency number is (937) 225-4357. For current jail or inmate information, call (937) 225-4160. The jail facility and legal-mail address is 330 West Second Street, Dayton, Ohio 45422, and the Booking Sergeant is reached at (937) 225-4034.

For a booking record or photograph request, contact MCSO Records at 345 W. Second Street, Dayton, OH 45422, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Written requests may be sent through MCSO NextRequest; the MCSO public-records page describes inspection, copies, fees, and contact information. Under Ohio Revised Code ยง 149.43, a request need not use a form, state a name, or give a reason, but it must identify the records with reasonable clarity. Ask the office to explain any denial or redaction and its legal basis.

MCSO lists examples of $0.10 per faxed page, $0.50 for a number-10 envelope, actual cost for larger mail, $0.25 per certified page, $3 for a background check, $4 for an accident report, and $1 for a CD. It does not list a separate booking-photo fee. Fees and media charges can change, so request a current quote rather than assuming that a listed example applies to a photograph.

Use the official path that matches the question:

  • For an adult held now in the county system, begin with the Montgomery County Jail current-custody roster and, when necessary, the jail information line. The roster concerns current custody, not every recent arrest or release.
  • For a booking record, booking photograph, or a request under the Ohio Public Records Act, use MCSO Records or NextRequest. The home page explains how to describe a focused request.
  • For a public criminal case, arraignment, bond, or disposition after booking, search Montgomery County Clerk PRO. A docket is not a substitute for live custody confirmation.
  • For a warrant question, use the court's official process described on Most Wanted Fugitives. Do not rely on an unofficial wanted post as a live warrant confirmation.
  • For a person serving a state sentence or under Ohio correctional supervision, use the ODRC Offender Search. It is not a county-jail roster.
  • For federal custody, use the BOP inmate locator. For qualifying immigration custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator.
